Keith Klett, a longtime member of the Pleasure Riders Motorcycle Club, was honored for his years of dedicated service to the club and District 15 and 17 hillclimbing over the past 35 years. Klett designed and built the timing systems the club used for its hillclimbs, upgrading them over the years as new technology was developed. The Pleasure Riders are the most active of the hillclimb clubs, hosting ten every year for the past many years, placing great demands on the club members running those events. Klett also serves as the starter/line judge for the club, and in 35 years of Pleasure Rider M/C hillclimbs, he has missed only one. Bud Northrup, the District 17 Hillclimb Director, awarded him the ‘Director’s Choice’ Award in recognition of outstanding lifetime service to our sport. The beautiful plaque included a color etching of Keith himself riding in hillclimb action. The Pleasure Riders recognized Klett’s contributions to the club last year, awarding him a lifetime membership in the club, along with a beautiful personalized Pleasure Riders jacket. It’s people like Keith Klett who make our sport so special – Thanks, Keith! |
